Built in 1865 by a major local industrialist, this castle was quickly requisitioned by the French army to house artillery regiments. During the great wars, it even served as a prison, a past that left a lasting mark. In 1947, it was converted into an administrative center for the former nearby prison.

Subsequently, it was used as a training and dining center for prison guards. However, in 2004, it was abandoned, just like the neighboring detention center, which was partially demolished. In 2010, a devastating fire ravaged the castle, prompting the municipality to acquire it. Despite this, it remains abandoned and open to all intrepid explorers.
