Fruminet Castle, a true emblem of Picardy and Île-de-France, is a must-see for urban exploration enthusiasts, although it is located in an area teeming with many other sites, each with its own charm and level of preservation.

Built in 1865 by a prominent local industrialist, this château was quickly requisitioned by the French army to house artillery regiments. During the World Wars, it even served as a prison, a past that left its mark for a long time. In 1947, it was converted into an administrative center for the neighboring former prison.
Later, it was used as a training and dining center for prison guards. However, in 2004, it was abandoned, along with the neighboring detention center, which was partially demolished. In 2010, a devastating fire ravaged the castle, prompting the municipality to acquire it. Despite this, it remains abandoned and open to all intrepid explorers.
