The Château des Anges, whose presence in this small town has been documented since the 16th century, bears within it the vestiges of a long history. Having been the home of several notable families over the centuries, it has stood the test of time with majesty.
However, its fate took an unexpected turn when it was converted into a retirement home. After housing residents for many years, the castle was finally abandoned in 2009, leaving behind traces of a glorious, now-forgotten past.
Despite the hopes raised by the acquisition of the castle by a Middle Eastern prince in recent years, it appears to have remained in a state of decay. Efforts to restore and preserve this historical heritage seem to have been in vain, leaving the Castel degli Angeli in a state of neglect that contrasts sharply with its former grandeur.
