Vila Dilme Castle, whose presence has been attested since the 16th century in this small town, bears within it the vestiges of a long history. Having been the home of several notable families over the centuries, it has crossed the ages with majesty.
However, its fate took an unexpected turn when it was converted into a nursing home. After hosting residents for many years, the castle was finally abandoned in 2009, leaving behind traces of a now forgotten glorious past.
Despite the hopes raised by the acquisition of the castle by a Middle Eastern prince in recent years, it seems to have remained in a state of disrepair. Efforts to restore and preserve this historical heritage seem to have been in vain, leaving Vila Dilme Castle in a state of neglect that contrasts with its past grandeur.
