SANATORIUM JULIA FAZEKAS

The Julia Fazekas Sanatorium, built in 1908 as a private hospital, evolved in the second half of the 1950s into a center specializing in the treatment of respiratory diseases, reserved for men at that time. Later, it was transformed into a specialized medical center offering radiology, medicine and surgery services, while remaining dedicated to pulmonology.

SANATROIUM JULIA FAZEKAS

Then, three years later, the Julia Fazekas Sanatorium was integrated into the intercommunal hospital center of the large neighboring agglomeration, before finally being permanently transferred a few years later. Closed for almost 30 years, it is now awaiting rehabilitation into housing. On site, we were able to see that the surveyors had already traced and marked out the future land. Let's hope that this project will succeed, because this old sanatorium already almost rose from its ashes when a project to transform it into a luxury hotel, although well advanced, was never completed.
